Svitlytsia Museum
Museum / gallery
The Ukrainian Svitlytsia Museum in the House of Culture of the village of Berezhanka in Volyn was equipped in 2018 by the director of the institution, Oksana Makarenko. A small ethnographic exposition currently occupies only one room.
The basis of the exposition is a collection of embroidered paintings, towels and shirts collected by the founder of the museum. Many of them were embroidered by Berezhanka craftsmen over half a century ago.
Also presented are ancient household items: jugs, makitras, pots, a mortar, a spinning wheel, a ruble, a butter churn, etc. All of these items were brought to the museum by local residents. Some of the exhibits are over 100 years old.
