Solonka

The village of Solonka is a southern suburb of Lviv. It is located next to the Lviv district near the intersection on Chop.

The first mention of Solonka dates back to 1433. The name may be related to the fact that in ancient times there was a transshipment point for the Chumaks who transported salt from Ukraine to Western countries at this place.

In 1930, the majestic Church of the Nativity of the Virgin in the style of Ukrainian Art Nouveau was built in the northwestern part of the village.

Road service infrastructure (motels, cafes, gas stations) is intensively developing in Solonka, as the new Lviv stadium, which hosted EURO 2012 matches, is located nearby.

Село Солонка - південне передмістя Львова. Розташоване поруч з львівською окружною біля розв'язки на Чоп.

Перша згадка про Солонку відноситься до 1433 року. Назва може бути пов'язана з тим, що в давнину на цьому місці був перевалочний пункт чумаків, які везли сіль з України в західні країни.

В 1930 році в північно-західній частині села була побудована велична церква Різдва Богородиці в стилі українського модерну.

В Солонці інтенсивно розвивається інфраструктура дорожнього сервісу (мотелі, кафе, АЗС), оскільки поруч розташований новий львівський стадіон, який приймав матчі ЄВРО-2012.
