General information about Hodovytsia
The village of Hodovytsia is located on the southwestern outskirts of Lviv, next to Navariia.
Known since the 14th century. In 1405, Hodovytsia received Magdeburg rights. In 1751-1758, the Church of All Saints was built in Hodovytsia, the architect of which was the creator of Ssint George's Cathedral in Lviv, Bernard Meretyn, and the altar was created by the brilliant sculptor Ivan Pinzel. Now the monument is in a deplorable condition.
In nearby Navariia there is another church created by the same authors.
Село Годовиця розташоване на південно-західній околиці Львова, поруч з Наварією.
Відоме з XIV сторіччя. В 1405 році Годовиця отримала Магдебурзьке право. В 1751-1758 роках в Годовиці було споруджено костел Всіх Святих, архітектором якого був творець собору Святого Юра у Львові Бернард Меретин, а вівтар створив геніальний скульптор Іван Пінзель. Зараз пам'ятка знаходиться в жалюгідному стані.
В сусідній Наварії знаходиться ще один костел, створений тими ж авторами.

All Saints Church

The Church of All Saints in the village of Hodovytsia was built in 1751-1758 by the prominent Lviv architect of Italian origin, Bernard Meretyn.
Lviv Archdeacon Stefan Mikulsky provided the funds for the construction. This is one of the projects on which Meretyn worked together with the famous sculptor Ivan Pinzel. The sculptor made an altar, some sculptures of which are now on display in the Pinzel Museum in Lviv and in the Olesko Castle. Paintings by the artist Oleksandr Rolinsky have been preserved in the interior. The baroque pediment of the church is decorated with characteristic decorative stone vases.
Later, the church in Hodovytsia served as prototypes for several more churches in the "Meretyn" style, which were created according to the architect's typical projects. The crucifix and the miraculous image of Mary with the baby were exported to Poland.
Meanwhile, the Church of All Saints in Hodovytsia has been abandoned since Soviet times and is gradually falling into disrepair.
