Bronka

The village of Bronka on the banks of the Borzhava River is located 35 kilometers north of Khust.

It was mentioned for the first time in 1464, although a feudal castle existed here as early as the 13th century. Roman coins found on its territory suggest that a Roman guard post was located here during Dacia. According to legend, the Bronka Castle belonged to the brigand knight Brinda on a three-legged horse, who terrorized the local population and robbed neighbors. It is known from historical sources that Bronka was conquered several times by Halician princes.
