Kholmok

The village of Kholmok is located at the exit from Uzhhorod in the direction of Chop. The name is translated from Hungarian as "sand".

The first written mention of the village dates back to 1358. In 1479, the area became the property of the Gusti family. During the 14th–15th centuries, Kholmok was owned by the local nobility. Since the 16th century, Kholmok became the property of the Korlat family.

A monument to fellow villagers who died in Stalinist camps has been erected in the village. Ancient Slavic settlements of the VI-IX centuries were investigated on the outskirts of the village.

Roadside infrastructure is being developed to serve transit passengers heading to Hungary via Chop.

Село Холмок розташоване на виїзді з Ужгорода в бік Чопа. Назва перекладається з угорської як "пісок".

Перша письмова згадка про село датується 1358 роком. У 1479 році місцевість перейшла у власність родини Густі. Протягом XIV–XV століть Холмоком володіла місцева шляхта. З XVI століття Холмок став власністю родини Корлат.

В селі встановлено пам’ятник односельчанам, які загинули у сталінських таборах. На околиці села досліджені давньослов’янські поселення VI-IX століть.

Розвивається придорожня інфраструктура з обслуговування транзитників, як прямують в Угорщину через Чоп.
