Lubnia

The small Boykos village of Lubnia is located in the valley of the river of the same name near the Polish border on the territory of the Uzhanskyi National Nature Park.

The village has been known since the 17th century. According to legend, its name comes from the fact that the inhabitants once specialized in the manufacture of bark (lub) and bark products.

The wooden Saint Illya Church was built in 1991 instead of the older one that burned down.

The territory of the village is part of the Polish-Slovak-Ukrainian International Biosphere Reserve "Eastern Carpathians", which combines unique, well-preserved Carpathian landscapes of three countries.
