General information about Vilniansk

The city of Vilniansk on the Vilyanka River is located 25 kilometers northeast of Zaporizhzhia.

It was founded in 1840 (according to other data in 1810-1816) as the village of Sofiyivka. The current city developed around the Sofiyivka railway station, which was opened in 1873. Until 1966, the village was called Chervonoarmiyske.

Saint Volodymyr Church
