The village of Pyiterfolvo is located on the Tisza River, on the Vylok-Okli highway, between two border crossings - Ukrainian-Hungarian and Ukrainian-Romanian.
Founded at the beginning of the 16th century. The name is translated from Hungarian as "the village of Petro".
In 1864, the summer residence of Hungarian Minister of Agriculture Endre Dyordy was built here. Now this building houses an art gallery.
