The village of Muzhiievo is located 5 kilometers southeast of Berehovo, on the M-23 "Mukachevo-Vynohradiv" highway.
First mentioned in 1114 as Muzhay. Since those times, the ruins of the Romanesque church of John the Baptist (1117) have been preserved on the outskirts of the village, and in the center you can see the Reformation church with a wooden bell tower in the late Gothic style (XIV-XV centuries).
Gold has been mined in Muzhiievo since ancient times, the mine was closed only recently. Now rural tourism is developing.
Since 2010, the "Golden Goulash" festival-fair has been held annually in October.
