The large village of Stari Kuty is located next to the village of Kuty, between Kuty and Kosiv.

The population has long been involved in the production of various souvenirs, Christmas tree decorations, gardening, carving, embroidery, and pysankarstvo.
Ivan Franko, Lesya Ukrayinka, Olha Kobylyanska, Hnat Hotkevych and others visited here. Dmytro Kulyk, a lawyer and public figure who was repressed by the Soviet authorities, lived in Stari Kuty for a long time.
