General information about Pyadyky

The village of Pyadyky on the Kosachivka River is located on the north-eastern outskirts of Kolomyia, immediately behind the bypass road. Administratively, it is part of the Kolomyia district of the Ivano-Frankivsk region.

In historical documents, the village of Pyadyky was mentioned for the first time in 1480. Among the architectural monuments in the village, the wooden Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin, built at the end of the 19th century, has been preserved. There is also a cross and a chapel in the village on the occasion of the abolition of the lordship.

In 1897, the Ukrainian writer Myroslav Irchan, who was repressed during Soviet times, was born in Pyadyky (a museum has been opened).
