Shevchenkove

The village of Shevchenkove on the Svichka River is located 10 kilometers south of Dolyna along the road to Mizhhirya.

It has been known since 1469 as the village of Veldizh of the Zhydachiv district. It is believed that the old name should be deciphered as "big tub", because the valley in which the village is located is surrounded by mountains on all sides, like in a tub.

In the 18th century, the Gottlieb factory was built here, which produced agricultural residue. In the 19th century, the German colony of Enhelsberh (now the village of Anhelivka) existed on the territory of the village. The Church of Saint Paraskeva was built in 1910.
