Severynivka

The village of Severynivka on the Velikiy Kuyalnyk River is located 15 kilometers south of Ivanivka.

It was founded at the end of the 18th century by Count Severyn Potocki, who received 6,000 acres of land near Odesa after the Russian-Turkish war. The village was located on the Odesa - Balta postal route.

In 1800-1805, the church of John the Theologian was built at the expense of Potocki, which has survived to this day (a memorial sign was installed in honor of the count). At the same time, the church of Saint Severyn was built, which is currently in ruins. Potocki's crypt is preserved in the old village cemetery.
