Verkhnie Synovydne

The village of Verkhnie Synovydne in the foothills of the Carpathians is a transit point on the Kyiv-Chop international highway, 27 kilometers south of Stryi. It is located at the confluence of the Opir River and the Stryi River.

On the top of the Golden Mountain, you can find traces of the ruins of the monastery where Prince Danylo Halytskyi stayed in the 13th century. In 1790, a wooden church of Saint George was built on this site, rebuilt in 1943. The Church of Our Lady of Chenstokhova (1886) and a school building with a clock tower have also been preserved.
