Morshyn

The famous Morshyn balneological resort is located in the protected Carpathian forests 80 kilometers from Lviv, near Stryi.

It was first mentioned in 1482 as the property of a nobleman, Yukhno Nahvazdan, as part of the Kingdom of Poland.

Since ancient times, peasants have used local mineral springs to boil salt, but it was not suitable for industrial extraction. There is an ancient legend about how an image of the Mother of God appeared above one of the springs and offered the children playing near it to taste the life-giving water. Since then, the spring has been called "Under the Mother of God".

Since ancient times, peasants have used local mineral springs to boil salt, but it was not suitable for industrial extraction. Since 1878, on the initiative of the merchant Bonifatsiy Shtiller, a balneotherapy resort was opened in Morshyn on the basis of the "Bonifatsiy" and "Magdalena" springs (now springs #1 and #2). Initially, mud was used for treatment, and water was used for baths. The sale of bottled water began in 1883.

By the first half of the 20th century, Morshyn became a well-known balneological resort. A water hospital, a mud hospital, an inhaler and a "mushroom" mineral water pumping station were built, which became a symbol of the city. In 1935, the construction of the "Resort House" began (now it is the prestigious marble palace sanatorium).

Most of Morshyn sanatoriums were built in the Soviet period. They are located in the forest park zone separately from the residential part of the city. The modern medical and diagnostic center "Med-Palace" was opened: SPA area, water clinic, diagnostic center.

До першої половини XX століття Моршин став відомим бальнеологічним курортом. Були збудовані водолікарня, грязелікарня, інгаляторій та бювет мінеральних вод "грибок", який став символом міста. У 1935 році почалося будівництво "Курортного дому" (зараз це престижний санаторій "Мармуровий палац").

Більшість санаторіїв Моршина побудована в радянський період. Вони розміщені в лісопарковій зоні окремо від житлової частини міста. Відкрито сучасний лікувально-діагностичний центр "Мед-Палас": СПА-зона, водолікарня, діагностичний центр.
