Kamyani Potoky

The village of Kamyani Potoky is located on the bank of the Dnipro, 10 kilometers southeast of Kremenchuk.

It has been known since 1646 as Kamianka, although the history of the settlement probably dates back to the times of the Golden Horde - there was a medieval fortification here. In the 18th century, the village was subordinate to the Potoska Hundred of the Myrhorod Cossack Regiment, from where the new name Kamyanka-Potoska came from, which was later transformed into the present one - Kamyani Potoky.

A record was found in archival documents that a wooden church was built in the village in 1692. It has probably been rebuilt several times since then, but was dismantled only at the beginning of the 20th ...
