Tarutyne

The Bessarabian village of Tarutyne on the Anchokrak River is located 170 km west of Odesa, near the Moldovan border.

It was founded in 1814 after the conquest of Bessarabia by the Russian Empire and the conclusion of the Treaty of Bucharest. The first settlers were Germans and Poles. Tarutyne became the first German colony in Bessarabia.

In 1940, the Germans left the village, and in their place came Ukrainians from the Vinnytsia region, as well as Russians, Bulgarians, Moldovans, and Gagauz people. Tarutyne is still multinational.

There is a large grocery and food market, which attracts sellers and buyers from all over the region.

Бессарабське селище Тарутине на річці Анчокрак розташоване в 170 км на захід від Одеси, поблизу молдовського кордону.

Засноване в 1814 році після завоювання Бессарабії російською імперією й укладення Бухарестського трактату. Першими поселенцями були німці та поляки. Тарутине стало першою німецькою колонією в Бессарабії.

В 1940 році німці покинули селище, а на їх місце приїхали українці з Вінницької області, а також росіяни, болгари, молдавани, гагаузи. Тарутине і зараз відрізняється багатонаціональністю.

Тут працюють великий речовий і продовольчий ринки, на який з'їжджаються продавці і покупці з усіх околиць.
