Chornobai

Chornobai village is located 25 kilometers east of Zolotonosha.

It has been known since 1656 as a settlement of the Kropyvnya Hundred of the Pereyaslav Regiment. The name is probably related to the surname of one of the first settlers. In the 18th century, the village belonged to the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. From the 19th century, industry began to develop, the village became the center of the parish.

There is a local history museum.

Селище Чорнобай розташоване в 25 кілометрах на схід від Золотоноші.

Відоме з 1656 року як слобода Кропивнянської сотні Переяславського полку. Назва, ймовірно, пов'язана з прізвищем одного з перших поселенців. В XVIII столітті село належало Києво-Печерській лаврі. З XIX століття почала розвиватися промисловість, село стало волосним центром.

Діє краєзнавчий музей.
