Stara Talalaivka

The village of Stara Talalaivka is located 5 kilometers south of Talalaivka, not far from highway N-07 "Kyiv - Sumy".

It has been known since 1629 as the village of Talalaivka in the possessions of magnate Yarema Vyshnevetskyi. Probably, the name comes from the outdated word "talala" - a person who lispted (this could be the founder of the settlement), or from the surname or nickname of the founder.

In 1877, the name Talalaivka was given to the railway station laid nearby, around which a village of the same name arose, and in 1932 the village was renamed to Silchenkove in honor of Sevastyan Silchenko, the head of the Volost Revokom, who died during the Soviet-Ukrainian War. In 2016, t ...

It has been known since 1629 as the village of Talalaivka in the possessions of magnate Yarema Vyshnevetskyi. Probably, the name comes from the outdated word "talala" - a person who lispted (this could be the founder of the settlement), or from the surname or nickname of the founder.

In 1877, the name Talalaivka was given to the railway station laid nearby, around which a village of the same name arose, and in 1932 the village was renamed to Silchenkove in honor of Sevastyan Silchenko, the head of the Volost Revokom, who died during the Soviet-Ukrainian War. In 2016, the name of the village was restored.

In 1648, the village became part of the Talalaivka Kurin of the Krasnokolyadyn Hundred of the Pryluky Regiment. And in 1687, hetman Ivan Mazepa gave Talalaivka to the Krasnokolyadyn centurion Timofiy Andriyenko, after whose death his sons owned the village. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the village belonged to the Mazaraki family of Polish nobles. The wonderful wooden Church of the Assumption built by them (1775) has been preserved.

As a child, the future sculptor Ivan Kavaleridze lived in Stara Talalaivka, who happened to be the nephew of the famous archaeologist and artist Serhiy Mazaraki (a memorial plaque has been installed at the school).

А в 1687 році гетьман Іван Мазепа подарував Талалаївку красноколядинському сотнику Тимофію Андрієнку, після смерті якого селом володіли його сини. В XVIII-XIX солітті село належало роду польських дворян Мазаракі. Збереглася побудована ними чудова дерев'яна Успенська церква (1775 рік).

В дитинстві в Старій Талалаївці жив майбутній скульптор Іван Кавалерідзе, який доводився племінником відомому археологу та художнику Сергію Мазаракі (на школі встановлено меморіальну дошку).
