Borshna

The village of Borshna is located 10 kilometers northeast of Pryluky, next to the Sumy highway N-08.

Known since the 17th century. According to one version, the name of the village of Borshna comes from the thick pine trees that grew throughout the district. According to another version, the name comes from the word "flour", since there were many water mills here, on the tributary of the Udai River.

In 1805, the Church of Staint Illya was built on Illinska Hill, but in the 1970s it was completely dismantled. Now there is a cross and a sculpture of a monk carved out of wood on the hill.

Село Боршна розташоване в 10 кілометрах на північний схід від Прилук, поруч з сумською трасою Н-08.

Відоме з XVII сторіччя. За однією з версій, назва населеного пункту Боршна походить від густих борів, які росли по всій окрузі. За іншою версією, назва походить від слова "борошно", оскільки тут, на притоці річки Удай, було багато водяних млинів.

В 1805 році на Іллінській гірці була побудована церква Святого Іллі, проте в 1970-х роках її повністю розібрали. Зараз на гірці стоїть хрест і скульптура ченця, витесана з дерева.
