Mezyn

Mezyn is a small but very picturesque village on the high bank of the Desna River, 20 kilometers from the highway Chernihiv - Novhorod-Siverskyi.

It has been known since the 16th century, but people have lived here since ancient times.

In 1908, the Ukrainian scientist Fedir Vovk discovered a large settlement of primitive people of the Late Paleolithic era. Archaeological finds of the Mezyn settlement lot have replenished many museums of the country. In 1965, a museum was created at the site of the excavation, in which many finds are presented.

The wooden building of the school has been preserved.

Mezyn is also the center of the Mezyn National Park, which was created in 2006 to protect the nature of the local forest-covered Desnya heights, nicknamed "Mezyn Sw ...
