The news that art collections (paintings, graphics, sculptures) are being removed en masse from the Albin Havdzinsky art gallery, which is located in temporarily occupied Novaya Kakhovka, was received yesterday, November 1.

The art collections of the gallery included more than 1,200 exhibits, including a unique collection of 297 paintings and graphics by Albin Havdzynskiy, a collection of etchings by the People's Artist of Ukraine Vasyl Myronenko, a collection of illustrations by the People's Artist of Ukraine Valenty Litvinenko and many others.

The Havdzynskyi Art Gallery was founded on November 4, 1967 as an art department of the Kherson Regional History Museum. In 2003, she was given the name of Albin Havdzynskyi, an honored artist of Ukraine and an honorary citizen of Nova Kakhovka.

"This act of looting was a continuation of mass looting by Russian occupiers of cultural, medical and other institutions in the city of Kherson and the Kherson region after the occupation authorities announced the evacuation of the population due to a possible counteroffensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the Novokakhovska territorial community said in a statement. Based on this fact, the Executive Committee of the Novokakhovskyi City Council is preparing an official appeal to the relevant law enforcement agencies about the commission of a crime.

Художні фонди галереї нараховували понад 1200 експонатів, серед яких унікальна колекція з 297 творів живопису та графіки Альбіна Гавдзинського, колекція офортів народного художника України Василя Мироненка, колекція ілюстрацій народного художника України Валентина Литвиненка та багато інших.

Картинна галерея імені Гавдзинського заснована 4 листопада 1967 року як художній відділ Херсонського краєзнавчого музею. В 2003 році їй було привласнене ім'я Альбіна Гавдзинського, заслуженого художника України та почесного громадянина Нової Каховки.

"Цей акт мародерства став продовженням масових грабунків російськими окупантами закладів культури, медицини та інших установ міста Херсон та Херсонської області після об’явлення окупаційною владою евакуації населення через ймовірний контрнаступ Збройних сил України", - ідеться в повідомлені Новокаховської міської територіальної громади. За даним фактом Виконавчим комітетом  Новокаховської міської ради готується офіційне звернення до відповідних правоохоронних  органів про вчинення злочину.
