Sakura Fest 2026: Uzhgorod invites you to a flower festival

Every spring, in mid-April, the streets of Uzhgorod are covered with delicate pink cherry blossoms, creating a unique atmosphere. This is one of the main visiting cards of the city, which attracts thousands of guests from all over Ukraine and abroad.

Thanks to the warm spring this year, unusually early cherry blossoming is predicted in Zakarpattia region. The first Japanese cherry trees in the city may bloom as early as early April. And mass cherry blossoming is expected from April 10 to 20, 2026.

To make it easier for Uzhgorod guests who come to see the cherry blossoms to navigate the city streets and quickly find Sakura Alley and other flower locations for walks and photos, the city authorities have prepared an Interactive Sakura Map.

The main event will be "Sakura Fest 2026" - a celebration of spring, art, music, gastronomy and charity. For three days, a fair will be held in Uzhgorod, to which handmade craftsmen, craft producers and gastronomic masters are invited. The main locations will be Fentsyk Square, Independence Embankment, Poshtova Square and the Alpinarium.

The festival program will include concerts and performances by creative groups, art zones, exhibitions and open-air exhibitions by artists, master classes for children and adults, interactive locations and family activities, photo zones among blooming sakura, thematic performances, shows and evening events. It is expected that the brightest moments of the festival will be the traditional "Pink Walk" and a fire show.

As part of the "Sakura Fest", Uzhhorod will host the Uzhhorod Half Marathon for the second time. It will have an important charitable goal - raising funds to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular the 101st Territorial Defense Brigade and the GUR special unit. This year, the start of the race was moved to Sándor Petőfi Square, and on Sunday, partial street closures are planned during the event.

Завдяки теплій весні 2026 року на Закарпатті прогнозують незвичайно раннє цвітіння сакур. Перші дерева японської вишні в місті можуть зацвісти вже на початку квітня. А масове цвітіння сакур очікується в період з 10 по 20 квітня.

Головною подією стане "Сакура Фест 2026" – свято весни, мистецтва, музики, гастрономії та благодійності. Протягом трьох днів в Ужгороді триватиме ярмарок, на який запрошено майстрів хендмейду, крафтових виробників та гастрономічних майстрів. Основними локаціями будуть площа Фенцика, Набережна Незалежності, Поштова площа та в Альпінарій.

Програма фестивалю включатиме концерти та виступи творчих колективів, артзони, виставки та пленери художників, майстеркласи для дітей і дорослих, інтерактивні локації та сімейні активності, фотозони серед квітучих сакур, тематичні перформанси, шоу та вечірні події. Очікується, що найяскравішими моментами фестивалю стануть традиційна "Рожева хода" та вогняне шоу.

В межах "Сакура Фесту" Ужгороді вдруге відбудеться Uzhhorod Half Marathon. Він матиме важливу благодійну мету – збір коштів для підтримки Збройних Сил України, зокрема 101-ї бригади територіальної оборони та спецпідрозділу ГУР. Старт забігу цьогоріч перенесли на площу Шандора Петефі, а у неділю під час проведення заходу планується часткове перекриття вулиць.
