Shevchenko is resisting: in August, the She.Fest-2023 festival will be held in Moryntsi

As the organizers report on their Facebook page, the slogan of this year's festival is "Shevchenko is resisting", since a third of the organizing committee is currently at war, including the head of "She.Fest" Dmytro Kolosha. The organizing committee decided to hold the event, but to abandon the large entertainment part and plan to collect donations for the Armed Forces.

"It is very easy for us to abandon the purely entertainment elements, such as the concert on the music stage or She.GAMES, because these things have always been a nice bonus to the festival, not its essence. Everything that is most valuable in She.Fest will remain: the atmosphere , outstanding personalities, a unique location, talented artists and Ukrainian culture without sarovarshchyna and Russification. And this is 99% of the project," said festival director Oleksandr Vysotskyi.

All performances will be voluntary. The festival team strives to hold an event with minimal resources for Shevchenko fans and regular visitors, to dedicate all events to the themes of war as much as possible: support for the military, families of servicemen and forced migrants, and those who suffered in connection with Russia's military actions.

"While the nation is fighting, in particular the members of our team are fighting, we continue to do our part, because Shevchenko is also a weapon," commented the director.

During the festival, the entrance to which is free, it is planned to collect donations to support the military on the front lines for the purchase of gadgets important for victory, which will bring the implementation of Shevchenko's "Testament" closer.

Reference: "She.Fest" is an annual art festival dedicated to the memory and creativity of Shevchenko and Ukraine, which takes place in the poet's small homeland. During two days, more than 10 locations will work at the festival, where visitors will get to know Shevchenko better with various forms of presentation. The event promotes a healthy lifestyle, alcohol is prohibited during the festival.

Оргкомітет вирішив провести подію, але відмовся від великої розважальної частини та планують збирати донати на ЗСУ.

"Нам дуже легко відмовитися від суто розважальних елементів, таких як концерт на музичній сцені чи Ше.GAMES, адже ці речі завжди були приємним бонусом до фестивалю, а не його суттю. Все найбільш цінне, що є в Ше.Fest, залишиться: атмосфера, видатні особистості, унікальна локація, талановиті митці та українська культура без шароварщини та русифікації. А це 99% проєкту", — зазначив режисер фестивалю Олександр Висоцький.

Всі виступи будуть волонтерськими. Команда фестивалю прагне провести подію з мінімальним ресурсом для поціновувачів Шевченка та постійних відвідувачів, максимально присвятити всі події темам війни: підтримці військових, родин військовослужбовців та вимушених переселенців та тих, хто постраждав у зв'язку із воєнними діями росії.

"Поки нація б'ється, зокрема воюють члени нашої команди, ми продовжуємо робити своє, бо Шевченко — це теж зброя", – коментує режисер.

Під час фестивалю, вхід на який вільний, планується збір донатів на підтримку військових на передовій для закупівлі важливих для перемоги гаджетів, які наближать виконання шевченківського "Заповіту".
