Narcissus Valley 2025: mass blooming begins in Transcarpathia

Active flowering of the narrow-leaved daffodil has begun in the Narcissus Valley near Khust in Transcarpathia, which is part of the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve. This was reported by the press service of the Khust City Council.

"High-altitude wild narrow-leaved daffodils that bloom in the valley are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine, classified as UNESCO biosphere reserves... Active flowering is currently underway here," the city council said.

The Carpathian Biosphere Reserve states that since the beginning of May, the Narcissus Valley has been experiencing a massive influx of tourists who want to see this unique natural phenomenon.

"We expect the peak of the Narcissus Valley flowering to be around May 9-11. If the weather is favorable, the processes may accelerate," Oleksandr Navrotsky, head of the Natural Science Research Department of the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve, told Varosh.

Entrance to the Narcissus Valley during the recreational period is paid and differentiated depending on the flowering period.

Thus, at the beginning and end of the flowering period, the cost of a ticket for adults is 80 hryvnias, for schoolchildren and pensioners - 40 hryvnias. During the period of mass flowering, entrance to the valley will cost 100 hryvnias for adults and 50 hryvnias for schoolchildren and pensioners. People with disabilities, veterans, and combatants can visit the area for free.

You can walk along the Narcissus Valley along a specially laid eco-route, which stretches for 1.8 kilometers. It is forbidden to pick and trample daffodils on location, such actions are punishable by a fine.

Since last week, five Carpathian buffaloes have also been grazing in the Narcissus Valley, outside the flowering area. These animals are the property of the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve: three years ago, the facility bought two buffaloes, which during this time gave birth to three more buffalo calves, said Oleksandr Navrotsky.

"We have allocated and fenced off the territory outside the flowering area for them, where the buffaloes graze in the warm season after wintering in the barn. So, if you wish, guests will also be able to see our buffaloes," said Oleksandr Navrotsky.

The Narcissus Valley is a unique protected area near Khust, where the narrow-leaved narcissus grows. The valley is considered the largest center of the narrow-leaved narcissus in central Europe. This flower can also be seen in Ukraine on the mountain meadows of Svydovets and Marmaros.

Активне цвітіння нарцису вузьколистого розпочалося в Долині нарцисів поблизу Хуста на Закарпатті, що є частиною Карпатського біосферного заповідника. Про це повідомляє пресслужба Хустської міської ради.

"Високогірні дикі вузьколисті нарциси, які цвітуть у долині, занесені в Червону книгу України, віднесені до біосферних заповідників ЮНЕСКО... Саме зараз тут триває активне цвітіння", – розповіли у міськраді.

В Карпатському біосферному заповіднику констатують, що від початку травня в Долині нарцисів триваэ масовий наплив туристів, які хочуть побачити це унікальне природне явище.

"Пік цвітіння Долини нарцисів чекаємо десь 9-11 травня. В разі, якщо буде сприятлива сонячна погода, процеси можуть і пришвидшитись", – розповів виданню Varosh начальник природно-наукового-дослідного відділення Карпатського біосферного заповідника Олександр Навроцький.

Вхід у Долину нарцисів у рекреаційний період платний та диференційований залежно від періоду цвітіння.

Так, на початку і під завершення періоду цвітіння вартість квитка для дорослих становить 80 гривень, для школярів та пенсіонерів – 40 гривень. У період масового цвітіння вхід у долину коштуватиме 100 гривень для дорослих та 50 гривень – для школярів і пенсіонерів. Люди з інвалідністю, ветерани, учасники бойових дій можуть відвідувати територію безплатно.

Гуляти Долиною нарцисів можна за спеціально прокладеним екомаршрутом, який простягається на 1,8 кілометрів. Зривати та топтати нарциси на локації заборонено, такі дії караються штрафом.

З минулого тижня у Долині нарцисів, за межами цвітіння, також вже випасаються п'ять карпатських буйволів. Ці тварини є власністю Карпатського біосферного заповідника: три роки тому заклад купив дві буйволиці, які за цей час народили ще трьох буйволят, розповів Олександр Навроцький.

"Ми відвели й загородили їм територію поза межами цвітіння, де буйволи випасають у теплий період року після зимування у хліву. Тож за бажання гості також зможуть побачити також і наших буйволів", – сказав Олександр Навроцький.

Долина нарцисів – унікальний заповідний масив неподалік Хуста, де зростає нарцис вузьколистий. Долина вважається найбільшим осередком нарцису вузьколистого у Центральній Європі. Цю квітку в Україні можна побачити ще на полонинах Свидовця і Мармаросах.
