The rector of the historical cathedral created a space of memory within its walls, combining the beauty of the temple with deep historical meaning and spiritual testimony.

In Ivano-Frankivsk, the consecration of the "Cathedral" museum took place at the Archcathedral and Metropolitan Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ, timed to the 14th anniversary of the founding of the Ivano-Frankivsk Metropolis of the UGCC. This was reported by the press service of the Ivano-Frankivsk Archdiocese of the UGCC.

"The initiator of the creation of the museum was Father Yurii Novitsky, rector of the Archcathedral and Metropolitan Cathedral... It was he who began work on the idea of ​​creating a museum as a place of memory, spiritual continuity and testimony to the living history of the church," the message says.

The newly created museum consists of several exhibition halls, each of which presents unique monuments of church history and the spiritual heritage of the region. In particular, the museum features ancient shrouds, fragments of the ancient iconostasis of today's Archcathedral Cathedral, as well as numerous icons and liturgical objects that were found after the cathedral was returned to the bosom of the UGCC.

"A special place in the exhibition is occupied by relics of the underground period, which testify to the sacrificial faith and steadfastness of the clergy and laity during the times of persecution of the church," the press service emphasized.

It is noted that the museum has already been consecrated, but is not yet open for permanent visits. Its official operation will begin later.

В Івано-Франківську при Архікатедральному і митрополичому соборі Воскресіння Христового відбулося освячення музею "Катедра", приурочене до 14-ї річниці заснування Івано-Франківської митрополії УГКЦ. Про це повідомляє пресслужба Івано-Франківської архієпархії УГКЦ.

"Ініціатором створення музею став отець Юрій Новіцький, настоятель Архікатедрального і митрополичого собору... Саме він розпочав працю з ідеєю створення музею як місця пам’яті, духовної тяглості та свідчення живої історії церкви", – йдеться у повідомленні.

Новостворений музей складається з кількох експозиційних залів, у кожному з яких представлені унікальні пам’ятки церковної історії та духовної спадщини краю. Зокрема, у музеї можна побачити стародавні плащаниці, фрагменти старовинного іконостасу сьогоднішнього Архікатедрального собору, а також численні ікони та літургійні предмети, які були віднайдені після повернення собору у лоно УГКЦ.

"Окреме місце в експозиції займають реліквії періоду підпілля, що свідчать про жертовну віру і стійкість духовенства та мирян у часи переслідувань церкви", – наголосили у пресслужбі.

Зазначається, що музей уже освячений, однак наразі ще не відкритий для постійного відвідування. Його офіційне функціонування розпочнеться згодом.
