One of the central branches of the Zaporizhzhia oak collapsed and hung on ropes above the only surviving branch. However, the famous tree still stood.

On January 6, 2023, a message appeared in the Telegram channel of Oleksandr Prytula, the President of the All-Ukrainian Federation "Spas", that the legendary 700-year-old Zaporizhzhia oak had collapsed. He was informed about this by local residents, as the "Spas" federation, headed by Oleksandr Prytula, took care of the historical and cultural complex "700-year-old Zaporizhzhia oak" in the period from 2006 to 2015.

Later, after going to the scene, it turned out that it was one of the central branches that fell and hung over the only living branch. Oleksandr Prytula wrote to himself in the Telegram channel: "The Zaporizhia oak, or rather, a live branch, survived. Today I was at the historical and cultural complex to see the situation in person. The old branch really collapsed and could break the live one. But thanks to the rope structure, which at one time designed by People's Artist of Ukraine Anatoly Haydamaka, the old branch hung centimeters above the living one. This is good news. Because I believe that the living branch will bear acorns for many years to come and the children of the Zaporizhzhia oak will populate the whole world. Since the oak is a symbolic tree, this, in my opinion, symbolizes stability of Ukraine and that God protects us."

Reference: In 1990, the oak almost completely dried up, only one branch remained viable. Experts consider the extremely high level of groundwater to be the cause of oak drying. Since 2002, various specialists have been involved in environmental protection measures: metal masts supporting dry branches were installed, the soil, which had started to subside, was strengthened, and oak wood was treated with preservatives. Since 2010, the oak has been recognized by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Ukraine as the most historic tree of Ukraine. Thanks to the All-Ukrainian Federation "Spas", the children of the Zaporizhzhya Oak are growing up in 26 countries of the world. Around the oak, 8 son oaks are planted in a circle. In this way, it was possible to continue the sacred place at one time.

6 січня 2023 року в телеграм-каналі Президента Всеукраїнської федерації "Спас" Олександра Притули з'явилося повідомлення про те, ніби легендарний 700-річний Запорозький дуб рухнув. Про це його повідомили місцеві жителі, оскільки очолювана Олександром Притулою федерація "Спас" опікувалась історико-культурним комплексом "700-річний Запорозький дуб" в період з 2006 по 2015 рік.

Згодом, після виїзду на місце події, з'ясувалося, що йдеться про одну з центральних гілок, яка впала й повисла над єдиною живою гілкою. Олександр Притула написав у себе в телеграм-каналі: "Запорозький дуб, вірніше, жива гілка, вцілів. Сьогодні був на історико-культурному комплексі особисто подивитися на ситуацію. Стара гілка дійсно рухнула і могла зламати живу. Але завдяки мотузочній конструкції, яку свого часу сконструював народний художник України Анатолій Гайдамака, стара гілка повисла в сантиметрах над живою. Це гарна новина. Бо я вважаю що жива гілка ще багато років буде родити жолудями і діти Запорозького дуба заселять весь світ. Оскільки дуб знакове дерево, то це на мою думку символізує стійкість України і що нас береже Бог."

Довідка: В 1990 році дуб майже повністю засох, життєздатною залишилася  лише одна  гілка. Фахівці  причинами засихання дубу вважають  надзвичайно високий рівень ґрунтових вод. Вже з 2002 року різні фахівці залучалися до природоохоронних заходів: були встановлені металеві щогли, що підтримують сухі гілки, проводили зміцнення ґрунту, який почав просідати, деревину дуба обробляли консервантами. З 2010 року дуб був визнаний Міністерством охорони навколишнього середовища України найісторичнішим деревом України. Завдяки Всеукраїнській федерації "Спас" діти Запорозького дуба ростуть в 26 країнах світу. Навколо дуба посаджено 8 дубів-синів по колу. Таким чином ще свого часу священне місце вдалося продовжити.
