Anniversary mini-sculpture in Kyiv dedicated to the capital's power engineers

The cultural and historical project "Shukai!" presented its 50th anniversary mini-sculpture in Kyiv. It is called "People-Pylons" and is dedicated to the capital's power engineers, the authors of the project reported on the official website.

The bronze miniature is installed on the facade of the Leonardo business center at the address: Bohdana Khmelnytskoho Street, 17/52. It depicts three power transmission pylons in the form of human figures, behind which are multi-story buildings with windows. The sculpture is interactive - if you press a button, the windows of the buildings will light up.

"Energy workers have earned the title of people-pylons with their work. I am glad to have the opportunity to thank them with the anniversary sculpture," says sculpture patron Oleksandr Sahura.

The authors of the project recall that at the end of the 19th century, electricity forever changed Kyiv - the former provincial city became European culturally and technologically. In 1890, the first city power plant "Savytsky and Straus" began operating in Kyiv. It illuminated the City Theater (the predecessor of the current National Opera), several houses and fourteen lanterns on Khreshchatyk, which became the first illuminated street. In the same year, five large lanterns shone on Volodymyrska Gory - a favorite place for walks for Kyiv residents. It was from these events that the new life of the city began.

"And a bronze sculpture is dedicated to the power engineers - those who once gave light to Kyiv and protect it today. The station and the old theater are no longer there, but the memory of the quarter from which this transformation of the city began is alive. It was there that the new sculpture was installed," the authors say.

Let us recall that the "Shukai!" project was founded in 2018 so that residents and guests of Kyiv could learn about the history of the city without a guide, exploring the capital of Ukraine on their own. Each sculpture contains a QR code, which, after scanning, opens a page with detailed information about the history of each of them.

As travels.in.ua reported, the 40th anniversary mini-sculpture of the "Shukai!" project called "Kyiv Puzzle" was dedicated to all Kyiv residents who lived, live and will live in the city.

Культурно-історичний проєкт "Шукай!" презентував свою ювілейну 50-ту мініскульптуру в Києві. Вона має назву "Люди-опори" та присвячена столичним енергетикам, повідомили автори проєкту на офіційному сайті.

Бронзова мініатюра встановлена на фасаді бізнесцентру "Леонардо" за адресою: вулиця Богдана Хмельницького, 17/52. На ній зображені три опори електропередачі у вигляді людських фігур, позаду яких розташовані багатоповерхові будинки з вікнами. Скульптура інтерактивна – якщо натиснути на кнопку, вікна будинків засвітяться.

"Енергетики своєю працею заслужили називатися людьми-опорами. Я радий можливості подякувати ювілейною скульптурою саме їм", – говорить меценат скульптури Олександр Сагура.

Автори проєкту нагадують, що наприкінці XIX століття електрика назавжди змінила Київ – колишнє провінційне місто стало європейським культурно та технологічно. 1890 року в Києві запрацювала перша міська електростанція "Савицький і Страус". Вона освітлила Міський театр (попередник нинішньої Національної опери), кілька будинків і чотирнадцять ліхтарів на Хрещатику, який став першою освітленою вулицею. Того ж року п’ять великих ліхтарів засяяли на Володимирській гірці – улюбленому місці прогулянок киян. Саме з цих подій почалося нове життя міста. 

"І енергетикам – тим, хто подарував світло Києву колись і оберігає його нині – присвячена бронзова скульптурка. Станції та старого театру вже немає, але пам’ять про квартал, з якого почалася ця трансформація міста, жива. Саме там і встановили нову скульптуру", – кажуть автори.

Нагадаємо, що проєкт "Шукай!" засновано 2018 року для того, щоб мешканці та гості Києва мали можливість пізнавати історію міста без гіда, досліджуючи столицю України самостійно. Кожна скульптура містить QR-код, який після сканування відкриває сторінку з детальною інформацією про історію кожної з них.

Як повідомляв travels.in.ua, 40-ва ювілейна мініскульптура проєкту "Шукай!" під назвою "Київська складанка" була присвячена всім киянам, які жили, живуть і житимуть у місті.
