Weekend in Maliivtsi: the Orlovsky Palace opens a new season

A new tourist season called "Weekend in Maliivtsi" is starting in the Maliivtsi regional historical and cultural museum "Orlovsky Palace". The program includes the successful attractions of 2023 with some additions, "Suspilne" reports.

The Palace of the Orlovsky Counts in Maliivtsi, Khmelnytskyi region became a museum very recently. Until 2021, it was a children's sanatorium, but thanks to enthusiasts, it got a new life.

Now the guests of the palace are greeted by the scientific employee of the museum, Dmytro Babiuk, dressed in the fashion of the former owners. His hat, Dmytro says, is from a collection of men's headdresses of the beginning of the 20th century.

"A typical costume that was worn by both the owners of this palace and the servants. We have photos that we are examining," explains the tour guide.

And the collector and researcher of porcelain, Dmytro Sikorskyi from Odessa, who works here as a consultant, says: based on a fragment of porcelain found near the palace, he determined at which factory the dinner set from which the Orlovsky Counts ate was made. The researcher says: these are dishes of a well-known firm of the beginning of the 20th century, and the museum managed to purchase one item from such a set.

"Not the most expensive, but also not a cheap aristocratic thing. Such service was used in the palace for daily use. It is a German production, but our research also shows that there was a lot of Ukrainian porcelain from Baranivka and Korets in the Maliivtsi Palace."

Everything, Dmytro says, to fill the palace with things that the Orlovsky Counts used, or could use. Because the research of the palace continues, and discoveries are made every day, says Olena Radzivill, the deputy director of the museum for scientific work.

"I had a group just the other day, and I took them into a hall with an art exhibition, and a restorer was working there, and she had just opened two pieces of very interesting walls, and when the group saw that there was an opening right in front of them, it made a fantastic effect," Olena says.

A new attraction in Maliivtsi is a manor house with a Maliivtsi flavor for gastronomic tourism. Larisa Mishchynska stirs hemp in the makitra for an old Malievet dish.

"It will be a machanka with garlic. The machanka was generally served with cornbread, pies, pies with potatoes, pies with peas," says the hostess.

According to her, guests are served only local dishes here: in addition to machanka, it is homemade pork and horse meat sausage, soaked apples, pickled garlic sprouts, cheeses, dumplings, prunes and spicy pickled plums.

Director of the museum Anastasia Donets says: gastronomic tourism is not the only innovation this season. According to her, it was on the opening day of the season that a group of fifteen people went on the first multi-day hiking route.

"Maliivtsi, Slobidka-Malievetska, Slobidka-Yarova, Huta-Morozivska, Dzhurzhivka, Velyka Kuzheleva, Mynikivtsi, Otrokiv. It's a lot, it's 31 kilometers, it's for hardy tourists."

According to her, the most successful attractions, such as the rehabilitation of wounded servicemen, are being transferred from the past to this season.

"Without unnecessary advertising, in the mode of informational silence, we spend such rehabilitation days. Fishing, recreation in the forest and necessarily contact with our horses. Because horses are what turn adult, serious men who have been in battles into boys".

Anastasia says: she hopes that this season will be no less successful than the previous one, because people travel more in Ukraine, and Maliivtsi are well represented on the tourist map.

В Малієвецькому обласному історико-культурному музеї "Палац Орловських" стартує новий туристичний сезон під назвою "Вікенд у Маліївцях". У програмі – вдалі атракції 2023 року з деякими доповненнями, повідомляє "Суспільне".

Палац графів Орловських у Маліївцях на Хмельниччині став музеєм зовсім нещодавно. До 2021 року він був був дитячим санаторієм, але завдяки ентузаістам отримав новже життя.

Зараз гостей палацу зустрічає науковий співробітник музею Дмитро Бабюк, одягнений за модою колишніх власників. Його шапокляк, каже Дмитро, із колекції чоловічих головних уборів початку ХХ століття.

"Типовий костюм, який носили як і власники цього палацу, так і слуги. В нас є фотографії, які ми досліджуємо", – пояснює екскурсовод.

А колекціонер та дослідник порцеляни, одесит Дмитро Сікорський, який працює тут в якості консультанта, розповідає: за знайденим біля палацу уламком порцеляни визначив, на якій фабриці був виготовлений обідній сервіз, з якого їли графи Орловські. Дослідник каже: це посуд відомої фірми початку ХХ століття, і одну річ з такого сервізу музею вдалося придбати.

"Не сама дорога, але й не дешева аристократична річ. Такий сервіз в палаці використовували для щоденного ужитку. Це німецьке виробництво, але також наші дослідження показують, що в Малієвецькому палаці було дуже багато української порцеляни з Баранівки і Корця".

Усе, каже Дмитро, аби наповнити палац речами, якими користувалися графи Орловські, або могли ними користуватися. Бо дослідження палацу тривають, і знахідки трапляються щодня, говорить заступниця директора музею з наукової роботи Олена Радзивіл.

"У мене буквально на днях була група, я її завела в зал з виставкою художньою, а там якраз працювала реставраторка, і вона щойно відкрила два шматки дуже цікавих стін, і коли група побачила, що от просто перед ними відбулося відкриття, це справило фантастичний ефект", – розповідає Олена.

Нова атракція у Маліївцях – садиба з маліївецьким колоритом для гастрономічного туризму. Лариса Міщинська тре в макітрі коноплі для старовинної малієвецької страви.

"Це буде мачанка з часничком. Мачанка взагалі подавалася до дерунів, до пирогів, пироги з картоплею, пироги з горохом", – каже господарка.

За її словами, гостям тут подають тільки місцеві страви: крім мачанки, це домашня ковбаса з свинини та конини, мочені яблука, квашені часникові паростки, сири, вареники, чорнослив та гострі мариновані сливи.

Директорка музею Анастасія Донець каже: гастрономічний туризм – не єдине нововведення в цьому сезоні. За її словами, саме в день відкриття сезону група з п'ятнадцяти людей вирушила в перший пішохідний кількаденний маршрут.

"Маліївці, Слобідка-Малієвецька, Слобідка-Ярова, Гута-Морозівська, Джуржівка, Велика Кужелева, Миніьківці, Отроків. Це немало, це 31 кілометр, це для витривалих туристів".

За її словами, з минулого в цей сезон переносять найбільш вдалі атракції, як от реабілітація поранених військовослужбовців.

"Без зайвого афішування, в режимі інформаційної тиші, ми проводимо такі реабілітаційні дні. Риболовля, відпочинок в лісі і обов'язково контакт з нашими кіньми. Бо коні – це те, що перетворює дорослих, серйозних чоловіків, які були в боях, на хлопчиків".

Анастасія каже: сподівається, що цей сезон буде не менш вдалим за попередній, бо люди більше подорожують Україною, і Маліївці гідно представлені на туристичній мапі.
