During the weekend, on the territory of the medieval fortress city of Tustan, visitors are offered master classes, lectures, training in military training, as well as a traditional storming of the fortress.
The State Historical and Cultural Reserve "Tustan" in the village of Urych in the Lviv Region invites you to visit the "Camp of Living History" this weekend. As reported by the press service of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, this year the festival of Ukrainian medieval culture "Tu Stan" is being held in this format from August 4 to 6.
"Every year in August, the Tustan fortress comes to life – an invisible time machine transports visitors to the Middle Ages, where they enjoy the spirit of antiquity. In different years, this event had different formats and concepts. In the conditions of a pandemic, and now a full-scale war, we put more emphasis on knowledge and feelings of the era. Therefore, we invite you to join the "Living History Camp" in a popular science format, where, in particular, problems and challenges related to the preservation of cultural heritage will be actively discussed," the organizers said.
The camp consists of workshops (blacksmithing, carpentry, textile, art, pottery, leather processing), a combat part (maneuvers, duels, archery tournament), an experimental part (smelting of local ore, lecture hall), traditional events (archery shooting, horses, photos in armor, fighting with soft swords).
The climax of the event will be the storming of the fortress, which, according to the program, is planned for Saturday at 18:00.
