Restoration of the Pokorshchyna estate in Kozelets is underway

In Kozelets, Chernihiv Oblast, restoration work is underway on the historic Pokorshchyna estate of the mid-18th century, which once belonged to the Cossack families of the Razumovskys and Darahans. One of the initiators of the project, journalist and TV presenter Akim Halimov, reported on the progress of saving the monument in his Facebook post.

The architectural complex consists of the main manor house, a brick tenement house, and another wooden building, which has been partially preserved.

"The stone house is already in scaffolding, work is underway on the roof. Every evening, the master Nick Yan, who works in the attic, sends me a video of the newly restored elements. And just now, with the onset of heat, work on the main building will begin," the journalist wrote, noting that the restorers have the necessary permits for repair work from the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications.

According to him, in parallel, a team of architect-restorers is preparing a full restoration project - we are talking about a large amount of documentation for further stages of work. The project is funded by philanthropists and supported by the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration and the Kozelelets United Territorial Hromada.

"It seems that Pokorshchyna is one of the few heritage preservation projects that is being implemented at the expense of Ukrainians themselves, without the participation of the government, large funds or foreign investors. And all this - despite a full-scale war," Akim Galimov noted.

As reported by travels.in.ua, in August a volunteer gathering was held in Kozelets on the territory of the Pokorshchyna estate, initiated by journalist and volunteer Akim Halimov.

У Козельці на Чернігівщині тривають роботи з реставрації історичної садиби "Покорщина" середини XVIII століття, яка належала колись славетним козацьким родинам Розумовських і Дараганів. Архітектурний комплекс складається з головного садибного будинку, мурованої кам'яниці та ще однієї дерев'яної будівлі, яка збереглася частково.

"Кам'яниця вже в риштуванні, тривають роботи на даху. Щовечора мастер Нік Ян, який працює на горищі, надсилає мені відео щойно відреставрованих елементів. І ось-ось, із настанням тепла, починаються роботи на основній будівлі", – написав журналіст, зазначивши, що реставратори мають необхідні дозволи на ремонтні роботи від Міністерства культури та стратегічних комунікацій.

За його словами, паралельно команда архітекторів-реставраторів готує повний проєкт реставрації – йдеться про великий обсяг документації для подальших етапів робіт. Проєкт фінансується благодійниками та підтримується Чернігівською обласною військовою адміністрацією та Козелелецькою об'єднаною територіальною громадою. 

"Здається, "Покорщина" – один із небагатьох проєктів із збереження спадщини, який реалізується коштом самих українців, без участі уряду, великих фондів чи іноземних інвесторів. І все це – попри повномасштабну війну", – зазначив Акім Галімов.

Як повідомляв travels.in.ua, у серпні в Козельці відбулася виїзна волонтерська толока на території садиби "Покорщина", ініційована журналістом і волонтером Акімом Галімовим.
