Few people know, but the Ukrainian land is rich in various sights, even those that should not be here at all. We are talking about pyramids, which many are used to seeing only in Egypt.
Yes, the scale is not the same, but still there is something to brag about, especially since some believe that these structures have healing powers.
It is interesting that Ukraine holds the record for the number of pyramids in Europe. A total of three units are presented. In terms of their size, they are not as big as classical sights. If you want to compare, you need to go to Egypt and the AnyTour agency will help you organize tours. There are various resorts and hotels with the number of stars from 3 to 5 to choose from. Managers will take into account requests and prepare a sample for the budget of each tourist.
Pyramids in Poltava Region
One of them is in the village of Komendantivka, Kremenchuk district, Poltava region. Its construction began by order of General Oleksandr Bilevych, who fought in the Russian-Turkish war. He traveled a lot and visited Egypt, which influenced his outlook. He was the first to build a pyramid on the territory of Ukraine.
It all started in 1864. At first it was decided to build a church, but in 1877 his wife dies, so he decides to build a church and make it a 15-meter-tall pyramid tomb. As materials, granite from a local quarry was used, and for bonding, a composition was used, where, in addition to lime, there were egg whites and even cattle blood.
In 1915, the author of this building was buried here. There are three tiers inside the pyramid, and they are connected by passages and corridors. The lower tier is used as a crypt, where the above-mentioned spouses are buried. A church service was also held here from time to time, and there was a bell tower on the second floor.
After the Second World War, the pyramid was looted, some elements collapsed. In the 2000s, it was taken over by a local entrepreneur who managed to restore it and create a tourist attraction.
Pyramid of Zakrevskyi
Another tomb in the form of a pyramid 9 meters high. The tourist facility is located in the village of Berezova Rudka, Lubny District, Poltava Region. The author of the construction idea was Ihnatiy Zakrevskyi. The decision to create a pyramid appeared in 1989. The place was chosen for a reason, because the object appeared above the graves of Ihnatiy parents. From the inside, one side of the pyramid is written with Egyptian frescoes, and the other side with quotations from the Bible.
