Visitors' access to the territory of the park-monument will be restored after the transfer of the seized property of fugitive ex-president Viktor Yanukovych to the park's administration.
In Mezhyhirya Park-monument, located in the village of Novi Petrivtsi, Kyiv region, the process of transferring property seized in the criminal proceedings against ex-president Viktor Yanukovych to the state administration has begun. This is reported by the park administration on the official website.
"The head of a public organization, who since 2014 on his own initiative has been responsible for the custody of seized assets, joined the interdepartmental commission to inspect the property. In the presence of the commission, the property custodian shook hands with the head of the interdepartmental commission and thereby confirmed his support for the work of the commission," it was said. in the message.
As the acting director of the park, Serhiy Yuzvenko, noted, the Mezhyhirya state park-monument offers official employment to workers who recently worked in the park on an unofficial basis.
"We thank all the activists who maintained and preserved the park for more than 10 years. The state institution park-monument "Mezhyhirya" offers everyone who worked in the park on a volunteer basis to officially get a job. Anyone interested can contact our personnel department to join our team," said Yuzvenko.
The administration notes that until the completion of the commission's work, visitors' access to Mezhihirya Park will be closed, but the commission is doing everything possible to speed up this process.
As previously reported, in 2023 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the law that returned "Mezhyhirya" to the state property and created a new object of the nature reserve fund on 138.6 hectares of state-owned land with the official name "Mezhyhirya" national significance park-monument of landscape gardening art.
