NACP recorded 245 cultural objects that the Russians stole from Ukraine during the war

They emphasized that the theft of cultural property is a war crime, and a single database will help prevent illegal trade in art and antiquities stolen in Ukraine by the Russians, as documenting, publishing and disseminating information about such objects and their illegal origins can limit opportunities for their illicit circulation and help bring values back under Ukraine's control.

"The single database of cultural values stolen during the war from Ukrainian private and state collections will allow everyone to participate in this victory. Our joint task with you is to find every small piece of the world's cultural heritage stolen by the Russian Federation and return it," said the head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention Oleksandr Novikov.

It is noted that the Russian Federation has been looting and destroying Ukrainian cultural heritage systematically since 2014, in particular, it is about archaeological monuments and museum values.

"Stolen cultural values move through the territory of the Russian Federation, become part of exhibitions, private collections of Russians, and the subjects of research by various institutions. Both the fact of illegal actions (excavations, engineering works) and the values themselves that are stolen by Russians are used for propaganda purposes of the Russian Federation, in particular for fueling the "Russian world" by demonstrating the so-called "rich Russian culture," the message says.

Там наголосили, що викрадення культурних цінностей є воєнним злочином, а єдина база даних допоможе запобігти незаконній торгівлі предметами мистецтва та старовини, викраденими в Україні росіянами, оскільки документування, публікація та поширення інформації про такі предмети та їх незаконне походження може обмежити можливості для їх незаконного обігу і допомогти повернути цінності під контроль України.

Зазначається, що РФ грабує та знищує українську культурну спадщину систематично ще з 2014 року, зокрема йдеться про памʼятки археології та музейні цінності.

"Викрадені культурні цінності переміщуються територією РФ, стають частиною виставок, приватних колекцій росіян, предметами досліджень різних інституцій. Як факт здійснення протиправних дій (розкопки, інженерні роботи), так і самі цінності, які крадуть росіяни, використовуються у пропагандистських цілях РФ, зокрема для підживлення "русского мира", демонструючи так звану "багату російську культуру", - йдеться у повідомленні.
