Prince Trubetskoi Winery destroyed by russian air bombs

Russian criminals have completely destroyed the historic building of the Prince Trubetskoi Winery in the village of Vesele, Kherson region, with a targeted bomb strike. This was reported on Facebook by the winery's sommelier Oleh Novosiolov.

"What had been restored for years was completely destroyed... It was not just a building. It was the history and pearl of the Kherson region. Tradition. Quality. A symbol of a new wave of Ukrainian winemaking... Today, the winery will remain only in memories and photos," wrote Novosiolov.

He recalled that one of the oldest wineries in Ukraine, which is 130 years old, has already undergone a revival. After World War II and after the decline of the post-Soviet era, it was rebuilt almost from scratch. During the occupation in 2022, the Russians looted the wine cellar and took away the equipment. The current strike with two FAB 500 guided bombs, which Russian terrorists cynically boasted about on social media, became the most destructive.

"It hurts not only for the walls. It hurts for the work of people. For the vineyards. For the dreams and plans that were built over the years. It hurts for the place where they went to feel the taste of the south, the silence of the Dnieper and pride in Ukrainian," says the sommelier.

A well-known expert on Ukrainian winemaking and the wine industry, Serhii Klimov, expressed hope in his post that after the war, the chateau of Prince Trubetskoy will be rebuilt in its original form.

"The winery's blueprints have been preserved, so there is a chance to restore everything in the future. But that will be a completely different story," the expert says.

It is worth noting that after the liberation of the right-bank Kherson region from Russian invaders in 2022, the winery resumed production under the new Stoic Winery brand, which is not associated with the former Russian expansion in the Kherson region.

"We respect the history and activities of our founder, the Russian prince Trubetskoi, but we believe that our identity and future should not be associated with the Russian prince," the company explained at the time.

Currently, the company produces wines from other vineyards at production facilities in the Odessa region, in particular, two years ago it introduced a new line of Dnipro Hills.

Російські злочинці прицільним бомбовим ударом остаточно зруйнували історичну будівлю виноробні князя Трубецького в селі Веселе Херсонської області. Про це повідомив у Facebook сомельє виноробного господарства Олег Новосьолов.

"Те, що роками відновлювали, зруйновано вщент... Це була не просто будівля. Це була історія та перлина Херсонщини. Традиція. Якість. Символ нової хвилі українського виноробства... Сьогодні виноробня залишиться лише у спогадах і на фото", – написав Новосьолов. 

Він нагадав, що одна з найстаріших виноробень України, якій 130 років, уже проходила шлях відродження. Після Другої світової війни та після занепаду пострадянських часів її піднімали майже з нуля. Під час окупації у 2022 році росіяни розграбували винотеку та вивезли обладнання. Нинішній удар двома керованими авіабомбами ФАБ 500, яким російські терористи цинічно похизувалися в соцмережах, став найбільш руйнівним.

"Болить не лише за стіни. Болить за працю людей. За виноградники. За мрії й плани, які будувалися роками. Болить за місце, куди їхали, щоб відчути смак півдня, тишу Дніпра й гордість за українське", – каже сомельє.

Відомий знавець українського виноробства та винної індустрії Сергій Клімов у своєму дописі висловив сподівання, що після війни шато князя Трубецького вдасться відбудувати в початковому вигляді.

"Креслення виноробні збереглися, тож є шанс відновити все в майбутньому. Але це буде зовсім інша історія", – каже експерт.

Варто відзначити, що після визволення правобережжя Херсонщини від російських загарбників у 2022 році виноробня відновила виробництво під новим брендом Stoic Winery, який не асоціюється з колишньою російською експансією на Херсонщині.

"Ми поважаємо історію та діяльність нашого засновника, російського князя Трубецького, але вважаємо, що наша ідентичність і майбутнє не мають бути пов’язані з російським князем", – пояснили тоді в компанії.

Наразі компанія випускає вина з інших виноградників на виробничих потужностях в Одеській області, зокрема два роки тому представила нову лінійку Dnipro Hills.
