A brass band will play at the live music location "Under the sakuras", and at the Volunteer Fair you can buy handmade products and products of craft producers.
In Uzhhorod, the mass flowering of sakuras (cherry blossoms), which are an informal tourist symbol of the city, has begun. This event annually attracts thousands of tourists to the city. The city authorities have prepared a number of events for this time, which will last from April 6 to 14.
The largest number of sakuras in Uzhhorod can be found in the quarters between Oleksandra Dovzhenko Street and Nezalezhnosti Embankment. For better access to these locations with cherry blossoms, on April 6-7 and 13-14 in Uzhgorod, they decided to block traffic on Dovzhenka Street. Buses on city routes No. 7, 7D, 9, 14, 20 will run through Mytna and Sobranetska Streets.
The sakura alley on Babyka Street, planted a few years ago, was supplemented with palm trees this year, reports the press service of the Uzhhorod City Council. It is noted that "the first palm trees in Transcarpathia" were purchased and planted in open ground "at the initiative of a construction company that is building a residential complex nearby."
During the weekend of 6-7 on Naberezhnaya Nezalezhnosti and April 13-14 in the square named after the Heroes of the Maidan and in the "Owl's Nest", the Volunteer Fair will take place. Here you can buy handmade products, products of craft manufacturers, various pink goodies. There will be animators and growth dolls, themed photo zones, karaoke and workshops for children.
Open tours will be held, musical groups will perform. In particular, on April 13 at 3:00 p.m. on Oleksandr Dovzhenka Street, the live music venue "Under the Sakuras" will be open, and the academic brass band of the Zakarpattia Regional Philharmonic will perform.
