Hutsulshchyna National Park is becoming more accessible for tourists with disabilities

The creation of barrier-free spaces continues on the territory of the Hutsulshchyna National Nature Park in the Ivano-Frankivsk region within the framework of the international project "Ukraine: national parks are accessible to people with disabilities". This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.

At the first stage, the administration of the national park ensured the accessibility of its most popular facility in the village of Pistin near Kosovo for visitors with reduced mobility.

"As part of the project, the reconstruction of the "Saint Nicholas Estate" took place, which is one of the most visited places in the Hutsulshchyna National Park. A barrier-free space for people with limited mobility has been built here: there are special ramps and a restroom," the ministry said in a statement.

The national park said that as part of the reconstruction, the area near the entrance was paved with cobblestones, plastering and waterproofing of the interior were carried out, sewerage lines were laid, and special plumbing elements were installed.

The implementation of the project is important for families where there are persons with disabilities, the ministry emphasizes. After all, visiting national parks allows them to adapt socially, get to know the world around them and relax together.

"During six months of 2024, the Hutsulshchyna National Park was visited by almost 4,000 tourists, of whom up to 100 people are people with disabilities. A barrier-free environment in national parks and nature reserves is important in today's conditions. We are working on creating modern ecological and educational visit centers according to the best European practices, which will be inclusive and adapted for people with disabilities," said Oleksandr Krasnolutskyi, First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.

Previously, a ramp for people with reduced mobility was installed in the Hutsulshchyna National Nature Park for convenient boarding of horses from wheelchairs. The administration of the national park emphasizes that the use of the ramp will facilitate the contact of persons with disabilities with Hutsul horses, which will positively affect the emotional state of visitors.

Створення безбар'єрних просторів триває на території Національного природного парку "Гуцульщина" на Івано-Франківщині в межах міжнародного проєкту "Україна: національні парки доступні для людей з інвалідністю". Про це повідомляє пресслужба Міністерства захисту довкілля та природних ресурсів України.

На першому етапі адміністрація нацпарку подбала про доступність для маломобільних відвідувачів свого найпопулярнішого об'єкту в селі Пістинь поблизу Косова.

"У рамках проєкту відбулася реконструкція "Маєтку Святого Миколая", який є одним із найвідвідуваніших місць у нацпарку "Гуцульщина". Тут облаштували безбар’єрний простір для маломобільних груп населення: є спеціальні пандуси та вбиральня", – йдеться у повідомленні міністерства. 

У нацпарку розповіли, що в межах реконструкції виклали бруківкою майданчик біля входу, виконали роботи з тинькування та гідроізоляції внутрішнього приміщення, проклали каналізаційні комунікації, встановили спеціальні елементи сантехніки. 

Реалізація проєкту важлива для родин, де є особи з інвалідністю, наголошують у міністерстві. Адже відвідування нацпарків дозволяє їм соціально адаптуватися, ознайомлюватися з навколишнім світом та разом відпочивати.

"Протягом шести місяців 2024 року нацпарк "Гуцульщина" відвідали майже 4 тисячі туристів, з них до 100 осіб – це люди з інвалідністю. Безбар’єрне середовище у нацпарках та заповідниках – це важливо в умовах сьогодення. Ми працюємо над створенням сучасних еколого-просвітницьких візит-центрів за кращими європейськими практиками, які будуть інклюзивними та пристосованими для людей з інвалідністю", – зазначив перший заступник міністра захисту довкілля та природних ресурсів України Олександр Краснолуцький.

Раніше в Національному природному парку "Гуцульщина" був облаштований для маломобільних людей пандус для зручного підходу до коней на кріслах колісних. В адміністрації нацпарку наголошують, що використання пандуса сприятиме контактам осіб з інвалідністю із кіньми гуцульської породи, що позитивно відображається на емоційному стані відвідувачів.
