Visitors are offered a deeper dive into Lemko culture thanks to guided tours in traditional clothing and the opportunity to try them on.

The museum complex "Lemko Village" in Monastyryska, Ternopil region, has begun conducting costumed excursions. For this purpose, replicas of eight authentic costumes are used, which were sewn thanks to grant support from international partners and co-financing from the regional budget, reports "Suspilne".

According to the director of the museum complex, Vira Dudar, the project "Sew memory: from lemko costume to the preservation of the ethnic group" is designed to modernize the work of the museum.

"There are many authentic Lemko costumes in the museum collection. In particular, we have a wonderful collection of William Jula, which he gave us. But we do not have the right to put them in exhibits. That is why we sewed these replicas. And now, through the Lemko costume, we are actually advertising and popularizing our culture," explains the director.

Now, upon prior reservation, visitors to the museum are met and guided through the exhibits by guides in ethnic clothing. And for even greater immersion in national culture, anyone who wishes can also try on a Lemko costume.

"When a person dresses in a Lemko costume, hears about the Lemko region - it is a symbiosis, when you can feel like a Lemko. Everyone can take a photo of themselves in this finery," says Vira Dudar.

The day before, as part of the same project, a fashion show of the Lemko folk costume "Spatzer po deptaku" took place.

У музейному комплексі "Лемківське село", що в Монастириськах на Тернопільщині, почали проводити костюмовані екскурсії. Для цього використовують репліки восьми автентичних костюмів, які пошили завдяки грантовій підтримці міжнародних партнерів та співфінансуванню з обласного бюджету, повідомляє "Суспільне".

За словами директорки музейного комплексу Віри Дудар, проєкт "Зшити пам'ять: від лемківського костюма до збереження етносу" покликаний осучаснити роботу музею. 

"В музейній фондозбірці є багато лемківських автентичних костюмів. Зокрема, в нас є чудова колекція Вільяма Джули, яку він нам подарував. Але ми не маємо права одягати в експонати. Тому ми пошили ці репліки. І тепер через лемківський костюм, власне, ми рекламуємо, популяризуємо нашу культуру", – пояснює директорка.

Выдтепер за попереднім замовленням відвідувачів у музеї зустрічають та проводять по експозиціях екскурсоводи в етнічному вбранні. А для ще більшого заглиблення в національну культуру кожен охочий також може приміряти лемківський стрій.

"Коли людина одягається в лемківський костюм, слухає про Лемківщину – це симбіоз, за якого можна відчути себе лемком.  Кожен може зробити в цьому костюмі собі фото", – каже Віра Дудар.

Напередодні в межах цього ж проєкту відбувся показ-дефіле лемківського народного костюму "Спацер по дептаку".
