The procession of carolers will start from the main Christmas tree of Uzhgorod, will pass through the central streets of the city and will lead participants and guests to the open-air museum near the Uzhgorod Castle.

The annual ethno festival "Carols in the Old Village" will be held on January 4 on the territory of the Transcarpathian Folk Architecture and Life Museum in Uzhgorod. Entrance to the festival area will be free for everyone, the museum administration reports on its official Facebook page.

"As part of the annual regional festival "Carols in the Old Village", the Uzhgorod Skansen hospitably opens its gates to residents and guests of the city. We invite our fellow countrymen and guests to come and meet a living tradition, joint prayer and carol singing in the regional open-air museum," the message says.

The cultural and artistic event will begin at 11:00 with a festive service in the Shelestiv Church of the Archangel Michael. And at 11:45 a caroling procession will set off from Sándor Petőfi Square (the city's main Christmas tree) to the open-air museum, which will bring participants and guests right into the heart of the Christmas event.

"After that, a rich festive program will await visitors: a presentation of authentic nativity scenes, performances by caroling groups from various communities of Transcarpathia, as well as a Christmas fair of crafts by masters of decorative and applied arts and craft products, which will create an atmosphere of real Christmas," the organizers announce.

The festive program will be complemented by a children's event from the Uzhhorod Skansen "Children Singing Carols in the Old Village", which will last from 13:00 to 15:00.

Щорічний етнофестиваль "Коляди в старому селі" відбудеться 4 січня на території Закарпатського музею народної архітектури та побуту в Ужгороді. Вхід на фестивальну територію буде вільним для всіх, повідомляє адміністрація музею на офіційній сторінці у Facebook.

"У межах щорічного обласного фестивалю "Коляди у старому селі" Ужгородський скансен гостинно відкриває свої ворота для мешканців і гостей міста. Запрошуємо краян та гостей завітати на зустріч із живою традицією, спільною молитвою та колядою в обласному музеї просто неба", – йдеться у повідомленні.

Культурно-мистецький захід розпочнеться об 11:00 зі святкового богослужіння у Шелестівській церкві Архангела Михаїла. А об 11:45 від площі Шандора Петефі (головна ялинка міста) до скансена вирушить колядницька хода, яка приведе учасників та гостей просто в серце різдвяного дійства.

"Після цього на відвідувачів чекатиме насичена святкова програма: презентація автентичних бетлегемів, виступи колядницьких гуртів з різних громад Закарпаття, а також різдвяний ярмарок виробів майстрів декоративно-ужиткового мистецтва та крафтових продуктів, що створить атмосферу справжнього Різдва", – анонсують організатори.

Святкову програму доповнить дитяча акція від Ужгородського скансену "Діти колядують у старому селі", яка триватиме з 13:00 до 15:00.
