The only architectural object made of stone was transported to the open-air museum from the ancient village of Potelych, which in ancient times was the leading center of pottery in the Lviv region.

The Folk Architecture and Life Museum named after Klymentiy Sheptytsky in Lviv has completed the restoration of a unique pottery from the village of Potelych. According to the press service of the Lviv City Council, in the space of the pottery you can not only get acquainted with the internal exposition and history, but also take part in a modeling or pottery workshop.

"The restoration work lasted a year. As part of the reconstruction, the roof was replaced, the stone was strengthened, a new pottery kiln was built, internal carpentry work was carried out, and the interior and internal exposition were created. The cost of the work was approximately 600,000 hryvnias," the report says.

Located between the picturesque hills of Roztochchia, Potelych is perhaps the oldest pottery center in Galicia. Once a city, now a village, it has been a center of pottery since medieval times. The pottery was built in the 1930s and recreates the traditional type of pottery buildings for Potelych. In 1975, the museum acquired it as a unique object and transferred it to the open-air museum.

"This is currently the only museum architectural object made of stone: the walls of the pottery are built of sandstone on a lime-cement mortar, the roof is covered with tiles. The first room houses a pottery kiln, the second room houses a production room with a potter's wheel and other tools. A small "shop" for storing things has been added to the pottery," the press service noted.

The Potelych Pottery is located in the Lviv Region museum sector. On weekends from 12:00 to 16:00, you can join a master class in modeling or pottery here, subject to availability (without prior registration). The cost of participation in the master class (full/concessional): pottery - 500/400 hryvnias; clay modeling - 300/200 hryvnias. On other days, you can join a masterclass by prior reservation or order an individual masterclass for 1500 hryvnias.

У Музеї народної архітектури і побуту у Львові імені Климентія Шептицького завершили реставрацію унікальної гончарні з села Потелич. Як повідомляє пресслужба Львівської міськради, в просторі гончарні можна не лише ознайомитися з внутрішньою експозицією та історією, а й взяти участь у майстерці з ліпки чи гончарства.

"Реставраційні роботи тривали рік. У межах реконструкції замінили покрівлю, зміцнили камінь, зробили нову гончарну піч для випалу, провели внутрішні столярні роботи, а також створили інтерʼєр та внутрішню експозицію. Вартість робіт склала приблизно 600 000 гривень", – йдеться у повідомленні.

Розташоване між мальовничими пагорбами Розточчя, Потелич – чи не найдавніший гончарний осередок Галичини. Колись місто, нині село, ще з середньовічних часів було центром гончарного промислу. Гончарня збудована у 1930-х роках і відтворює традиційний для Потелича тип гончарних споруд. У 1975 році музей придбав її як унікальний об’єкт і перевіз до скансену.

"Це, наразі, єдиний музейний архітектурний об’єкт, виконаний з каменю: стіни гончарні збудовано з пісковика на вапняно-цементному розчині, дах покритий черепицею. У першому приміщенні розташовується гончарна піч, у другому – виробниче приміщення з гончарним кругом та іншими знаряддями. При гончарні прибудована невеличка "шіпка" для зберігання речей", – зазначили в пресслужбі.

Гончарня з Потелича розташована у музейному секторі "Львівщина". У вихідні з 12:00 до 16:00 тут можна долучитися до майстеркласу з ліпки або гончарства за наявності вільних місць (без попередньої реєстрації). Вартість участі в майстеркласі (повна/пільгова): гончарство – 500/400 гривень; ліпка з глини – 300/200 гривень. В інші дні можна долучитися до майстеркласу за попереднім бронюванням або замовити індивідуальний майстерклас за 1500 гривень.
