"Wheels of history": a museum of retro machinery opened in Kyiv

The first museum of retro machinery "Wheels of History" in Kyiv opened its doors to visitors in the Svyatoshyno district of the capital. This is reported by the museum administration on the official Facebook page.

Work on the creation of the museum was carried out since 2017, said its founder, a well-known Kyiv collector and organizer of Old Car Land retro festivals, Pavlo Lozovenko.

"Today in the museum you can see more than 100 specimens of various vehicles. Both Soviet vehicles that were used in Ukraine and various foreign vehicles are represented - cars manufactured in Europe and the USA. Our oldest car is from 1934, and the youngest is from 1991, which is considered a "young timer", Lozovenko noted.

Each of the more than a hundred cars and motorcycles presented in the exhibition has its own fascinating story, the museum organizers emphasize.

"The peculiarity of the museum is that all the exhibits are "alive" and in a state "on the move". One part is perfectly preserved (so-called "time capsules"), the second is in a completely original state, but with some traces of the passage of time and hardships in operation, and the third - carefully restored," the message says.

In addition to technology, the museum also offers visitors to see various artifacts that will help to delve into the atmosphere of past eras.

"Radios and tape recorders, old gramophones and televisions, moreover, some of them are in working condition, which you can see for yourself by visiting the interactive part of our exposition. Each of our guests will be able to find items from their childhood and immerse themselves in the most pleasant memories" - the museum administration promises.

The Wheel of History Museum is open to visitors every week from Friday to Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A full ticket costs 200 hryvnias. Discounted prices are provided for children and certain categories of citizens.

Перший у Києві музей ретротехніки "Колеса історії" відчинив свої двері для відвідувачів у Святошинському районі столиці. Про це повідомляє адміністрація музею на офіційній сторінці у Facebook.

Робота над створенням музею велась з 2017 року, розповів його засновник, відомий київський колекціонер та організатор ретрофестивалів Old Car Land Павло Лозовенко.

"На сьогодні в музеї можна побачити понад 100 екземплярів різноманітної техніки. Представлена як радянська техніка, яка експлуатувалася на території України, так і різноманітна закордонна техніка – автомобілі виробництва Європи і США. Найстаріший автомобіль у нас 1934 року, а наймолодший – 1991 року, що вважається "янгтаймером", – зазначив Лозовенко.

Кожен із понад сотні представлених в експозиції автомобілів та мотоциклів має свою захоплюючу історію, наголошують організатори музею.

"Особливість музею полягає в тому, що всі експонати "живі" та перебувають у стані "на ходу". Одна частина ідеально збережена (так звані "капсули часу"), друга знаходиться у повністю оригінальному стані, але з деякими відбитками плину часу і тягот експлуатації, а третя – ретельно відреставрована", – йдеться у повідомленні. 

Окрім техніки, музей також пропонує відвідувачам побачити різноманітні артефакти, які допоможуть заглибитися в атмосферу минулих епох.

"Радіоприймачі та магнітофони, старовинні патефони та телевізори, більш того, деякі із них перебувають у робочому стані в чому ви зможете впевнитись, відвідавши інтерактивну частину нашої експозиції. Кожен з наших гостей зможе знайти предмети зі свого дитинства та поринути у найприємніші спогади", – обіцяють в адміністрації музею.

Музей "Колеса історії" відкритий для відвідувачів щотижня з п’ятниці по неділю, з 10:00 до 17:00. Повний квиток коштує 200 гривень. Передбачені пільгові ціни для дітей та певних категорій громадян.
