The Museum of Magdeburia will tell about the self-government in Chortkiv

A new museum dedicated to Magdeburg Law and the history of self-government in the city of Chortkiv in the Ternopil region has recently opened in the premises of the Chortkiv City Council. For this purpose, the interior of the tower of the New Town Hall was restored at the initiative of the city authorities, the Chortkiv Tourist Information Center reports on its official Facebook page.

"Chortkiv is suited to antiquity, and therefore the idea of ​​​​the mayor Volodymyr Shmatko to return the second floor of the administrative town hall to its historical appearance seems absolutely natural. This is where the Museum of Magdeburia is located - a place where the spirit of self-government and the historical heritage of the city comes to life," the message says.

The museum's exposition is dedicated to the era of Magdeburg Law, when Chortkiv had broad autonomous powers, and its development was determined by local officials. The museum pays special attention to Ludwik Noss, the burgomaster, who made a significant contribution to the development of the city, strengthening its economy and preserving its cultural heritage.

The walls of the museum are decorated with old clocks, symbolizing the relentless movement of time and the sustainable development of Chortkiv. Among the exhibits is a unique three-volume history of Chortkiv by Petro Fedoryshyn, which describes in detail the city's past, its significant events and figures.

"The Museum of Magdeburia is not only a place to get acquainted with history, but also a symbol of the continuity of traditions that continue to shape modern Chortkiv," the tourist information center emphasizes.

A tour of the museum and other interesting objects of Chortkiv can be booked at the tourist information center, which is also located in the town hall tower. There is a souvenir shop for tourists, where you can buy things that reflect the color of the city.

Новий музей, присвячений Магдебурзькому праву та історії самоврядування в місті Чорткові на Тернопільщині, працює віднедавна у приміщенні Чортківської міської ради. Для цього з ініціативи міської влади було відреставрувано інтер'єр вежі Нової ратуші, повідомляє Чортківський туристично-інформаційний центр на офіційній сторінці у Facebook.

"Чорткову пасує давнина, і тому ідея міського голови Володимира Шматька повернути другому поверху управлінської ратуші його історичний вигляд виглядає абсолютно природною. Експозиція музею присвячена добі Магдебурзького права, коли Чортків мав широкі автономні повноваження, а його розвиток визначали місцеві урядники. Особливу увагу в музеї приділено Людвіку Носсу – бургомістру, який зробив значний внесок у розбудову міста, зміцнення його економіки та збереження культурної спадщини.

Стіни музею прикрашають старовинні годинники, що символізують невпинний рух часу та сталий розвиток Чорткова. Серед експонатів є унікальний тритомник з історії Чорткова Петра Федоришина, який детально описує минуле міста, його визначні події та постаті.

"Музей Магдебурії – це не лише місце для знайомства з історією, а й символ спадкоємності традицій, які продовжують формувати сучасний Чортків", – підкреслюють у турінформцентрі.

Екскурсію музеєм та іншими цікавими об'єктами Чорткова можна замовити в турінформцентрі, що також розташовується у вежі ратуші. Для туристів тут працює сувенірна лавка, де можна придбати речі, що відображають колорит міста.
