This year, the Ternopil castles, the Crimean "Swallow's Nest" and some elements reflecting modern military realities were added to the Christmas composition.

The largest Christmas shopka in Ukraine was lit in the church of St. Peter the Apostle in Ternopil. This was reported by the press service of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration.

A huge Christmas nativity scene in the Ternopil church of the parish of St. Peter the Apostle of the UGCC has been installed annually since 2005, constantly expanding it and adding new relevant elements. Today, the width and length of the composition is 30 meters.

"This year, new locations and characters have been added that reflect the Ukrainian realities of celebrating Christmas," the regional military administration noted.

In particular, this year in the Christmas composition you can see destroyed houses and a military dugout. Also among the new compositions of the shopka are the Plebaniv Viaduct, the castles of the Ternopil Oblast and the Crimean castle "Swallow's Nest", Suspilne reports.

"These models of castles were created by our community, which operates at the monastery of the Knights of Columbus parish. These people worked on the models for 2-3 months in our basement, where we have a workshop, they drew and carved it all," said the priest of the parish, Father Damian.

The Christmas shopka in the Church of St. Peter the Apostle will be available for inspection until February 2.

У церкві святого апостола Петра у Тернополі засвітили найбільшу в Україні різдвяну шопку. Про це повідомляє пресслужба Тернопільської обласної військової адміністрації.

Величезний різдвяний вертеп у тернопільському храмі парафії святого апостола Петра УГКЦ щорічно встановлюють з 2005 року, постійно розширюючі його та додаючі нові актуальні елементи. На сьогоднішній день ширина і довжина композиції становить 30 метрів.

"Цього року додали нові локації та персонажі, які відображають українські реалії святкування Різдва Христового", – зазначили в обласній військовій адміністрації.

Зокрема, цьогоріч у різдвяній композиції можна побачити зруйновані будинки і бліндаж військових. Також серед нових композицій шопки – Плебанівський віадук, замки Тернопільщини та кримський замок "Ластівчине гніздо", повідомляє "Суспільне".

"Ці макети замків створила наша спільнота, яка діє при монастирі парафії "Лицарі Колумба". Ці люди 2-3 місяці працювали над макетами у нашому підвалі, де у нас є майстерня, вони малювали і вирізали це все", – розповів  духівник парафії отець Дам’ян.

Різдвяна шопка в церкві святого апостола Петра буде доступна для огляду до 2 лютого.
