In recent years, the architectural monument of local importance was on the balance sheet of Sumy Agrarian University, but it never waited for restoration.

The Lishchynsky-Kharytonenko Palace in Kyianytsia in Sumy Region was destroyed by shelling by Russian invaders. A video of the consequences of the enemy strike with plumes of smoke above the destroyed building was published by the regional publication "Kordon.Media".

"The ruins of the Kharitonenko Palace in Kyianytsia are burning down after enemy hits," the report says.

This luxurious estate was built by sugar magnate Ivan Kharytonenko in 1890. After his death, the estate passed into the inheritance of his niece Maria Lishchynska. During Soviet times, a camp was set up on the territory. For many years, the architectural monument of local importance with the adjacent Kyianytsia Arboretum was on the balance sheet of the Sumy National Agrarian University, but it never waited for restoration.

"As you can see, the Russians are destroying not only the homes of Ukrainians, but also cultural and historical monuments in order to completely erase any mention of our existence," the publication states.

The estate in Kyianytsia is located only 15 kilometers from the border with Russia.

Цей розкішний маєток у збудував цукровий магнат Іван Харитоненко у 1890 році. Після його смерті садиба перейшла у спадок племінниці Марії Ліщинській. За радянських часів на території облаштували турбазу. Протягом багатьох останніх років пам'ятка архітектури місцевого значення з прилеглим до неї Кияницьким дендропарком перебувала на балансі Сумського національного аграрного університету, але так і не дочекалася реставрації.

"Як бачите, росіяни нищать не тільки домівки українців, а й культурно-історичні пам'ятки, аби повністю стерти з лиця будь-які згадки про наше існування", – констатує видання.

Маєток у Кияниці розташовується лише за 15 кілометрів від кордону з Росією.
