As a result of careful restoration, one of the key monuments of Renaissance architecture in Ukraine is becoming an important center for presenting a deep historical and artistic component of ancient Ukrainian culture.

A new permanent exhibition "Glory of the Family - Glory of the People: Militaris, Sacrum, Artis" was opened in Zhovkva castle in the Lviv region. This was reported by the press service of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.

The exhibition reveals key aspects of the history and art of Western Ukrainian lands from the 17th to the beginning of the 19th centuries. In the space of the exhibition halls of the Frontal building of the Zhovkva Castle Museum-Reserve, a multidimensional image of Zhovkva is demonstrated through the prism of military history, sacred art, and cultural evolution.

Militaris – battle scenes that reflected modern and timeless values ​​and meanings, because cultural formation has always been accompanied by confrontations, military victories, battles, victories, triumphs.

Sacrum – history was created by faith, the affirmation of sacred meanings, the correlation of secular life with them. Over the centuries, the images of the Savior, the Mother of God, apostles, archangels, and saints have become components of the cult and markers of the value-meaning sphere.

Artis – the worldview, values, and meanings of the era were reflected in art in the evolution of styles and forms.

"Zhovkva castle restores its significance not only as a historical monument, but also as a cultural center. This exhibition is a bridge between the past and the present, a reminder that the struggle for Ukraine has deep historical roots," said Ivan Sobko, Deputy Head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, during the opening of the exhibition.

In addition to the main exhibition, the Guest building of the castle is also preparing a new exhibition "The Path of Creation. Sacred Sculpture of Eastern Galicia of the Late 17th - Early 19th Centuries", which will present the largest collection of Baroque sculpture in Ukraine.

To accommodate the new exhibition in Zhovkva castle, a 600-square-meter sanctuary on the first floor of the Guest Building has already been prepared. Restoration work was carried out at the expense of the Borys Voznytsky Lviv National Art Gallery and charitable contributions in the amount of almost 4 million hryvnias.

In late May or June, a large-scale sculptural space is planned to be presented to visitors to Zhovkva castle.

Нову постійну експозицію "Слава роду – слава народу: Militaris, Sacrum, Artis" відкрили у Жовківському замку на Львівщині. Про це повідомила пресслужба Львівської обласної військової адміністрації.

Виставка розкриває ключові аспекти історії та мистецтва західноукраїнських земель XVII – початку XIX століття. У просторі експозиційних залів Фронтального корпусу музею-заповідника "Жовківський замок" демонструється багатовимірний образ Жовкви через призму військової історії, сакрального мистецтва та культурної еволюції.

Militaris – батальні сцени, що віддзеркалили сучасні та позачасові цінність і сенс, адже культуротворення повсякчас супроводжували протистояння, ратні звитяги, битви, перемоги, тріумфи. 

Sacrum – історію творила віра, утвердження сакральних змістів, співвідношення із ними мирського життя. Упродовж століть складниками культу й маркерами ціннісно-смислової сфери поставали образи Спасителя, Богоматері, апостолів, архангелів, святих.

Artis – світогляд, цінності та сенси епохи відобразило мистецтво в еволюції стилів і форм.

"Жовківський замок відновлює своє значення не лише як історична пам’ятка, а й як культурний центр. Ця експозиція – місток між минулим і сучасністю, нагадування про те, що боротьба за Україну має глибокі історичні корені", – зазначив заступник голови Львівської ОДА Іван Собко під час відкриття виставки.

Окрім основної експозиції, у Гостьовому корпусі замку також готують нову виставку "Шлях Творення. Сакральна скульптура Східної Галичини кінця XVII – початку XIX століття", на якій буде представлена найбільша в Україні колекція барокової скульптури.

Для розміщення нової експозиції у Жовківському замку вже підготували приіщення першого поверху Гостьового корпусу площею 600 квадратних метрів. Реставраційні роботи провели коштом Львівської національної галереї мистецтв імені Бориса Возницького та благодійних внесків на суму майже 4 мільйонів гривень.

Вже наприкінці травня або ж у червні масштабний скульптурний простір планують презентувати відвідувачам Жовквківського замку.
