Paraska Plytka-Horytsvit - Ukrainian Hutsul artist, photographer, writer, storyteller, folk philosopher, folklorist, ethnographer, dialectologist. She is called "Homer of Hutsul Region".

The museum consists of two locations: the premises of the former village council in Kryvorivnia (the main exhibition) and the house in the village of Hrashparivka, where the artist actually lived.

The basis of the exposition of the museum in the village of Kryvorivnia became the works of Paraska Plytka-Horytsvit, restored and framed for the exhibition "Overcoming Gravity", which was organized by the capital's Art Arsenal in 2019. At the same time, the Kryvorivnia hromada, the museum staff of the Arsenal, and the curators of the exhibition began to actively discuss the idea and conditions of creating a museum of the artist in her native village. After the exhibition in the Arsenal, the exhibition objects and works of the artist returned to Kryvorivnia.

The museum was created to preserve and popularize the heritage of Paraska Plytka-Horytsvit. The opening was supposed to take place on March 1 this year, but due to the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, it was delayed for almost ten months and took place only on December 18.

It is planned that the museum complex will become a venue for various activities and events. Already on December 26, the first master class - on making a Christmas star - will take place.

Музей складається із двох локацій: приміщення колишньої сільради у Криворівні (основна експозиція) та будинку в присілку Грашпарівка, в якому власне мешкала художниця.

Основою експозиції музею в селі Криворівня стали роботи Параски Плитки-Горицвіт, відреставровані та урамлені для виставки "Подолання гравітації", яку організував столичний Мистецький арсенал у 2019 році. Тоді ж громада Криворівні, музейники Арсеналу та куратори виставки почали активно обговорювати ідею та умови створення музею мисткині в її рідному селі. Після закінчення виставки в Арсеналі, експозиційні об'єкти та роботи мисткині повернулись до Криворівні.

Музей створили з метою збереження й популяризації спадщини Параски Плитки-Горицвіт. Відкриття мало відбутися 1 березня цього року, однак через повномасштабне російське вторгнення в Україну затрималося майже на десять місяців і відбулося лише 18 грудня.

Планується, що музейний комплекс стане майданчиком для різноманітних заходів та подій. Вже 26 грудня має відбутися перший майстер-клас - із виготовлення різдвяної зірки.
