Kharkiv Derzhprom suffered as a result of Russian shelling

The Derzhprom building in Kharkiv, which is an architectural monument of national importance, was damaged as a result of Russian missile attacks on the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv on January 2. This was reported by "Suspilne" with reference to the director of State Industry Mykola Chekhunov.

"The walls are not damaged, we have broken windows and stained-glass windows. Now we are sewing up everything with OSB boards. There is no major damage inside. I cannot say how many windows and stained-glass windows have been broken. Since the morning, workers have been closing the windows, materials have been brought to us, several organizations have organized the work , so that today we have time to sew everything," said Chekhunov.

Damages have not yet been calculated.

"There were no injured people. This happened before the beginning of the working day, and therefore there were no people in the building. And our people, who work around the clock, were not injured," Mykola Chehunov added.

"The damage that occurred today affected almost the entire north-western part of the building. There are deformed and broken windows. The volume that is there is very large-scale work. Today's damage affects the condition of the building, because a violation of the temperature regime can lead to damage to the interior decoration , and this is quite a serious problem. There are a large number of wooden structures inside Derzhprom, which will be very harmful," said architect Viktor Dvornikov.

Built in 1923, the building of the State Industry (Derzhprom) in Kharkiv became the first Soviet 13-story skyscraper. This monument of architecture in the constructivist style is one of the most interesting tourist attractions of the city.

"Derzhprom is a monument of national significance and a world example of avant-garde architecture. It is the only building of this scale that has combined all ideological assets. For Kharkiv, it is probably the most significant architectural monument," the architect said.

"Стіни не пошкоджені, у нас вибиті вікна, вітражі. Зараз ми зашиваємо ОСБ-плитами все. Всередині якихось великих пошкоджень немає. Зараз сказати скільки вибито вікон та вітражів не можу. Від ранку працівники закривають вікна, нам привезли матеріали, кілька організацій організували роботи, щоб сьогодні ми встигли все зашити", – сказав Чехунов.

Збитки поки не підраховували.

"Поранених не було. Це до початку робочого дня сталося, а тому людей не було у будівлі. А наші люди, які працюють цілодобово, то вони не постраждали", – додав Микола Чехунов.

"Пошкодження, які відбулися сьогодні зачепили майже всю північно-західну частину будівлі. Там деформовані та вибиті вікна. Обсяг, який там є, то це дуже масштабні роботи. Сьогоднішні пошкодження впливають на стан будівлі, бо порушення температурного режиму може призвести до пошкодження внутрішнього оздоблення, а це досить серйозна проблема. Всередині Держпрому велика кількість дерев'яних конструкцій, яким це буде дуже шкідливо", – повідомив архітектор Віктор Дворніков.

Збудований у 1923 році будинок Державної промисловості в Харкові став першим радянським 13-поверховим хмарочосом. Ця пам'ятка архітектури в стилі конструктивізму є одним із найцікавіших туристичних об'єктів міста.

"Держпром – це пам'ятка національного значення і світовий зразок авангардної архітектури. Єдина, такого масштабу будівля, яка поєднала у собі всі ідеологічні надбання. Для Харкова, мабуть, це є найвизначнішою пам'яткою архітектури", – розповів архітектор.
