General information about Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church (Korostyshiv)
The majestic Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was founded in 1608 at the expense of Count Adam Olizar, rebuilt in stone in 1779 by Yuzef Olizar.
Baroque architecture uses the style of Louis XIV. The altar was decorated with the painting "Jesus on the Cross" by the Polish artist Frantsysk Smuhlevych. The family crypt of the Olizars was located in the side chapel.
In Soviet times, the temple was used as a granary, and then as a cinema.
In 1991, the building of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was returned to the Catholic community of the city. In 2008, a complete restoration was carried out. The interiors are decorated with the works of Polish woodcarver Furdyna.

Величний костел Різдва Пресвятої Діви Марії закладений у 1608 році коштом графа Адама Олізара, відбудований в камені в 1779 році Юзефом Олізаром.
В архітектурі бароко використано стиль Людовіка XIV. Вівтар прикрашала картина польського художника Франциска Смуглевича "Ісус на хресті". У бічній каплиці знаходився сімейний склеп Олізарів.
За радянських часів храм використовувався як зерносховище, а потім як приміщення кінотеатру.
В 1991 році будівлю костелу Різдва Пресвятої Діви Марії було повернуто католицькій громаді міста. В 2008 році проведено повну реставрацію. Інтер'єри прикрашені роботами польського майстра різьблення по дереву Фурдини.
Перед костелом встановлено пам'ятник поетові та громадському діячеві Густаву Олізару.
