General information about "Mermaid" Sculpture (Koreiz)
The sculptural group "Mermaid" on the seashore in the village of Koreiz is dedicated to the ancient Tatar legend about the girl Arzy and the robber Ali-Baba.
According to legend, the robber stole the girl on her wedding day and sold her to the harem of the Turkish sultan. Even the birth of a son did not bring relief to her soul, and a year after the abduction Arzy threw herself into the sea from the tower of the sultan's palace. They say that since then a mermaid with a baby in her arms sometimes appears from the sea near the coast of Miskhor.

Скульптурна група "Русалка" на березі моря в селищі Кореїз присвячена старовинній татарській легенді про дівчину Арзи та розбійника Алі-Бабц.
За легендою, розбійник вкрав дівчину в день її весілля та продав у гарем турецького султана. Навіть народження сина не принесло полегшення її душі, і через рік після викрадення Арзи кинулась у море з вежі султанського палацу. Кажуть, з того часу з моря біля узбережжя Місхора іноді з'являється русалка з немовлям на руках.
Скульптура русалки встановлена у воді поблизу пляжу.
