General information about Saint Nicholas Cathedral (Mohyliv-Podilskyi)
The stone cathedral of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker in Mohyliv-Podilskyi was built in 1754 at the expense of the Bulgarian, Serbian and Moldavian communities of the city.
The temple is made in the Byzantine style. A four-cornered, two-story belfry, converted from the city's kalancha, stands separately. In 1885, reconstruction was carried out, the temple was significantly expanded.
In Soviet times, the building housed a local history museum. Currently, the Saint Nicholas Cathedral is active. A miraculous image of Saint Nicholas is kept here, as well as a silver gift box donated by Emperor Oleksandr III in memory of the late Tsarevich Mykola Oleksandrovych.
Кам'яний собор Святого Миколая Чудотворця у Могилеві-Подільському збудовано в 1754 році коштом болгарської, сербської та молдавської громад міста.
Храм виконаний у візантійському стилі. Окремо стоїть чотирикутна двоповерхова дзвіниця, перероблена із міської каланчі. У 1885 році проведено реконструкцію, храм значно розширили.
За радянських часів у приміщенні розміщувався краєзнавчий музей. Нині Миколаївський собор діє. Тут зберігається чудотворний образ Святого Миколая, а також срібна обдарувальниця, пожертвована імператором Олександром III на згадку про покійного царевича Миколу Олександровича.
